SAIBABA SATISFIED THE
THIRST OF NANA
Nanasahib Chandorkar was an ardent and staunch devotee of Saibaba . Once Nanasahib with his assistant officer and the whole of office staff , made a pilgrimage to a Devi Temple on Harishchandera hill . It was a hot summer day and the hill was rocky, there were no trees and no water. The group had climbed halfway, when Nanasahib was fatigued and thirsty. The water they had brought was exhausted . Nanasahib's assistant suggested to return. But Nanasahib could not do so due to his thirst. He sat on a flat slab of stone and said, " If Saibaba were here, He would certainly give me the water to quench my thirst." The assistant thought that this speculation was futile as Saibaba was not there. But Saibaba was always with Nanasahib .
Here in Masjid Dwarkamai Saibaba said, " My Nana is in trouble." At the same time, a Bhil was walking down the hill,Nanasahib said, "I am very thirsty, I can get some water." The Bhil replied , " What ? You are asking for water ? Under the stone on which you are siting , there is drinking water." Then he walked away. The peons and assistant moved the stone and found a clear sparkling water, Nanasahib drank the water and quenched his thirst and again started the pilgrimage . They took the darshan of the Devi and returned home.
Later on , when Nanasahib visited Shirdi , Saibaba said," Nana you were thirsty, I gave you water. Did you drink it"? This increased Nanasahib's faith further by leaps and bounds. He was convinced that Saibaba had the power to bring water to the barren hill, then appear as the Bhil and save his life while siting in the Masjid Dwarkamai with the devotees.
